We need one chaperon for every 30 students to assist camp staff with supervision and activities
All chaperons must be cleared (fingerprinted) by the San Diego County Office of Education. Even parents that have been cleared by the LMSV school district will have to be re-fingerprinted by the SDCOE - no exceptions.

What needs to be done before being accepted as a chaperon? Please read carefully.....
Before being considered to chaperon at camp, you MUST contact Sharon Jenkins 619-990-9759.
After your contact with Sharon, you will receive an email from the Human Resources Department of San Diego County Office of Education to fully instruct you on how to correctly complete the fingerprint process. You must print 2 copies of the CLEARINGHOUSE FORM, making sure to check both boxes at the top for FBI and DOJ clearance.

You will also be asked to provide evidence of negative result TB test taken within the last 6 months

What does it cost to be a chaperon?
Fingerprinting cost is $79, and the cost of a current TB test. Usually under $100.00.
- Chaperons are at camp to help make the week comfortable for ALL students -- not just your child!
- Chaperons have to fit into the 6th grade camp environment. There is NO smoking, drinking, pets, or visitors allowed on campus!
- Chaperons, at least one per bus, ride with the kids to an from camp.
- Chaperons are given a duty assignment for the week.
- Chaperons supervise during meals, making sure kids are using their manners and busing tables as requested by Camp staff.
- Chaperons watch for problems and proactively work them out.
- Chaperons do not sleep in student dorms.
- Chaperons are welcome to participate in any of the activities, but remember, the children have center stage this week!
